Wedding reception centers in Salt Lake City can help alleviate or make worse any catastrophe that may happen on that most special day. This beautiful couple experienced disasters that no one wishes upon anyone, especially on their wedding day. Thankfully, Atrium Weddings event coordinator was there to calm the situations that she nor the couple had no control over.
First the cake provider, not recommended by Atrium, called and indicated they had dropped the wedding cake masterpiece. They would try to salvage what was possible and would be behind schedule. When it finally came, only the middle and top layers were somewhat there. Without the bride seeing the disaster that sat upon the beautiful silver cake pedestal, the Atrium host and family jumped into action. One scurried away and bought two round white cakes from a local grocery store, another retrieved some ribbon from previous decorating of the Utah wedding location, and others kept the bride occupied in the bride’s room while some doctoring took place. By the time the bride emerged, she had a 3-tiered cake again. Only the original top was used and ribbon was placed to hide the seams of the other two new layers. It turned out fine and the bride was grateful for the teamwork of her family and Atrium staff.
If the cake nightmare wasn’t enough, the Reverend to perform the ceremony finally arrived an hour late. That put everyone on edge, but again, Atrium’s event host was there to calm the waters and make do with a tense situation. The caterers waited, guests waited, bride and groom waited; however, it did give some extra time to fix the wedding cake presentation.
Because the dinner was so delayed, the Atrium staff jumped into high-gear to set up for the reception after everyone had enjoyed their late meal. It was all resolved and gratefully, Atriums’ professionalism was calming and helped make the evening another beautiful wedding celebration of love at Atrium Weddings. These Salt Lake City wedding reception guests had no idea all that had taken place just hours before.
After it all, the bride was so grateful that she left this written note to Atrium Weddings. “You are all amazing! You made my day smooth and stress free – Just what every Bride needs!”
We at Atrium are glad that we could be there to help alleviate and help solve these uncontrollable events.

There are many wedding locations in Utah, but none had a flamenco flair on April 6, 2012. Take a peek at the celebration that took place at Atrium Weddings at Western Gardens in Sandy, Utah. The two pink flamingo bride and groom will greet you as you join in the party and meet a beautiful and fun wedding couple.
These two best friends were married and attended a wedding party unique and exciting for all to enjoy. Pablo is from Mexico and his family also attend this wonderful celebration. Alina is an exciting adventurer and has been taking flamenco dancing, so it was natural to include in their wedding celebration a taste of Spain.

Guests first witnessed a tender ring ceremony with these two friends, now lovers. Then four friends stood and surprised the wedding couple with several quartet songs. They were good! A toast was presented and all guest tables had sparkling cider and goblets to raise and wish the newlyweds a wonderful future. Guests lined up to a beautiful buffet of chicken cordon-blue, steamed vegetables, potatoes, gravy, and soft rolls. No one could go away hungry.

When all were seated, a professional Flamenco dancing group of two dancers and two guitarists entertained the party with authentic Spanish dancing. The main dancer used castanets, a shawl, and a fan throughout several dances to charm the wedding couple and guests. The entertainment was topped with the bride joining her dance teacher in doing some flamenco herself. It was a beautiful moment. This bride has a flair for learning new things in life.
Cutting the cake was definitely on the fun side of the event. Then after was the first dance. It was then that everyone could see that the bride was wearing the same turquoise blue keds that her new husband was wearing. These two are going to have a wonderful life full of love and adventure.
What a beautiful couple that found love through friendship. Utah wedding locations are plentiful, but Atrium Wedding in Sandy, Utah, is a beautiful backdrop for two best friends to celebrate their new eternal love.
Comments from mother of the bride included the following: Overall a great experience! We would absolutely recommend us to friends or use Atrium Weddings again. Many of our guests commented how they enjoyed the celebration and they loved the Atrium’s beauty. Thanks, it was lovely!

There are some unforgettable extras that can be added to a Sandy Utah wedding venue, to give you an extraordinary wedding reception. The Atrium at Western Gardens offers a spacious, Sandy Ut wedding reception venue, to hold memorable atrium weddings with an outdoor appeal. The weather will not be a factor when using this wedding venue, and even a beautiful rain or snow storm can add a unique atmosphere to a wedding using this fabulous Utah wedding reception center.
When considering extras that can add a unique touch to your wedding, they do not have to increase the price considerably. Your wedding day is one of the most spectacular days of your life, with memories made that will last a lifetime. Giving the guests a gift that is out of the ordinary is a great idea, because this will allow more people to reflect upon the day of your glorious union. Many times reception centers Utah can arrange and provide some of these unique extras.
Using a small herb plant as the place marker for every guess, is a gift that truly keeps on giving. Having the name of each guest on the pot or on a marker that is stuck into each plant, personalizes and reserves the place for the guest. An herb plant that is commonly used, plus easy to take care of, makes a great gift that your guest can use over and over again. Your wedding guest can place the herb that is planted in a 6 inch pot home, and place it on their windowsill to clip fresh onto salads and food at mealtime. Utah wedding venues like The Atrium at Western Gardens can handle this detail for you, to provide your guests with a memorable gift that would remind them of the wedding on a daily basis.
Adding illumination under the tables can provide an awesome effect during the reception, without a lot of additional cost. The colored lights are placed under each table and provide a beautiful glow through the tablecloths. Every table can have a different color, or the colors can be designated by giving the bride & groom a certain color with their family members being a different color, and the guests a final color. Even the buffet tables and cake table can have lights added to the underneath, along with any other tables in the Sandy reception center.
Placing customized beverage and food bars can add a special touch to your wedding. Some wedding venues in Utah can provide extras like an espresso bar, or maybe an herbal tea station. The type of beverage bar you provide will depend upon the preferences of the guests that are attending the Utah wedding reception. Specialty fruit, ice cream or frozen yogurt, popcorn and even sushi bars can add a flair to any Utah wedding locations.
A chocolate fountain could also be provided by wedding venues Utah, that many of your guests will love. The chocolate fountain table could include a variety of chocolate choices, like milk chocolate, dark chocolate, even white chocolate. Many weddings have shown that this is one of the favorite additions for a wedding, because so many of the guests like chocolate.
These are just a few wedding extras that can be added to any wedding receptions in Utah, to create unique memories of that special day. With a little thought and consideration of what the guests that will be attending the wedding would enjoy, you can provide everyone with a wonderful experience they will never forget.
Outdoor weddings are so beautiful, and with a variety of extras that can be added to make them unique, they are an excellent alternative. There are some issues with an outdoor wedding, though, with the main one being the weather. Utah only has about 4 months that are freeze free, so people searching for Utah wedding locations should look for Utah wedding venues that provide atrium weddings.
With the amount of snow and cold weather that Utah experiences, you should consider a Utah wedding reception center like the Atrium at Western Gardens for their beautiful outdoor feeling facility. All the plants that are part of the atrium wedding venues in Utah give off the outdoor feel of a garden wedding in any weather condition or temperature. If it snows during the ceremony or reception, your guests will love looking out all the spacious windows of this Sandy reception center.
Choosing a facility that offers you a Sandy Utah wedding venue in the same location as your Sandy Ut wedding reception. This will help keep the costs reduced because of a couple of factors. The first being, many of the plants that are included in these type of wedding venues Utah will help add to the flower decorations, so you will not need as much money for the flowers. Secondly, there is no need to transport decorations from the place the wedding is held, to the Utah wedding reception facility, or buy enough flowers for both venues.

The Atrium at Western Gardens also offers hundreds of styles of wedding announcements, with a 20% discount available when you reserve the atrium for your wedding. Leaving disposable cameras around for guests to take their own pictures, will provide you with wedding photos you will cherish forever. Shots taken by a guest can catch the real wedding, beneath the posed photographs, with lots of photos you would not have without these impromptu photographers.
The food is a large part of the reception, which needs to be chosen to fit whether the wedding is casual or formal. The budget will also play a vital role in this part of the wedding, because depending upon the choices, this is where manipulating the budget can have an impact. The Atrium at Western Gardens has 2 catering partners that can provide a magnificent feast for any budget and type of wedding being held.

There is a variety of options available for serving guests. If a couple’s wedding is on a tight budget, it might be best to serve hors d’oueves. Serving small appetizers and beverages is a cost-effective way to satisfy guests yet allow mingling and introductions. If the budget has more flexibility, a formal sit down three-course meal is advisable. A sit-down meal typically allows the option of a beef or pork tenderloin, chicken, salmon and a vegetarian dish. Giving guests the opportunity to select their menu choices ahead of time allows them to choose something that fits into their dietary preferences. It is important to remember that while couples invite their family and friends, they do not know the dietary requirements of all guests in attendance. Another excellent option is a buffet-style meal that allows for a variety of dishes, does not require people to select specific meal options ahead of time and helps promote mingling while people stand in line. It is important to consider space requirements, size of the room and the number of guests when considering what type of meal is served. If the room is an odd shape, it will be more difficult for guests to mingle in a buffet line. If the room is large, a buffet line might help draw people together by promoting conversation.
Buffets are an outstanding option for a luncheon reception. It helps give the reception a lighter, less formal feel, while allowing guests to comment on the wedding ceremony and catch up with one another.
Couples should confirm that the caterer is responsible for setting up the meals and cleaning up at the end of the event. This is another benefit of hiring a professional caterer; it will help streamline a couple’s special day.
Typically, catering companies also provide waiters and beverage servers. It is vital to make sure a catering company is on top of guests’ needs and requests, as this helps ensure that guests have a memorable evening. It is essential that food be served when the beverages begin making their way to guests. To help avoid an embarrassing event, guests should have a full stomach while partaking in alcoholic beverages.
Working with professionals at Sandy reception center helps ensure that the couple has a stress free event, focusing on their memorable day. Atrium Weddings has an outstanding Utah wedding reception center in Sandy, Utah.
So the “formal” and “serious” part of the wedding is over. The bride has marched majestically along the aisle. The couple has said their vows. The minister has pronounced them as man and wife. Now, it’s party time!
Yes, that’s what wedding receptions are. Although the wedding ceremony is undoubtedly beautiful and emotional, it is during the wedding reception that guests really get to mingle with each other and enjoy each other’s company over some good food and drinks. This is also where guests (including Grandma!) can party and boogie the night away in the wedding reception venue’s dance floor.
Everyone knows what happens during the usual wedding reception program. If you don’t want to go by this clichéd route, you can put a twist on the usual reception program and make it more fun and enjoyable with wedding games. Some well-selected wedding reception games (and guests who are eager and willing to join) can effectively break the ice and charge up the atmosphere. If your wedding reception location provides for a DJ or if you have assigned someone to act as the reception emcee, they can be the ones to facilitate these games.
Before you get into any of these games, make sure that the reception center has given prior approval to the games and the materials/props to be used. When you work with the wedding reception center, their assigned event coordinator can help get you the things you need and ensure that the games go smoothly. Choose games that encourage audience participation so as to get your guests out of their chairs and having a bit of fun!
Here are some games you can try:
- Variations of the garter toss. Are the men in your wedding party avid football fans? Then take a football and place the garter around it. The groom gets to toss the football and whoever catches the football wins the garter. Another variation is for the male volunteers to do a “sexy dance” – the best “sexy dance” is the one who ends up holding the garter. Again, make sure that your wedding reception center allows these games.
- “How well do you know your bride”. Line up volunteers – men and women, young and old – along with the bride. Have them sit down. Blindfold the groom and have him identify his bride from the lineup – only by shaking each volunteer’s hand (tame version). For more racy versions, have the volunteers kiss the groom or have the groom feel each volunteer’s legs.
- “Feed me”. With this game, the bride and groom take turns feeding each other. The groom is the first one to be blindfolded. He is to feed his new wife with a food item (preferably one that will not mess up the bride’s makeup or dress). He will feed the bride using only her directions. After this, it’s the bride’s turn. The bride is blindfolded and given a slice of the wedding cake (preferably one topped with whipped cream). The bride is to feed the cake to the groom.
- Getting the newlyweds to kiss (variations). Eschew the usual tapping of fork to glasses and add a new twist! For instance, get people to wear a lei and do the hula hoop for at least 30 seconds if they want the couple to kiss. Or, assign couples (male/female or male/male) to kiss at various points in the program. The newlyweds must lock lips the same way these couples do! Encourage the volunteers to provide racy versions of “the kiss” that the newlyweds must do. One other option is to have a putting green and a golf club. Anyone who wants the couple to kiss should get the golf ball into its hole.
- Balloon Pop. Get a balloon between the bride and groom. Cheer them on as they try to pop the balloon in any way possible without the use of their hands or feet.
When playing games where participants are blindfolded, make sure that there is someone on hand to prevent any accidents or spills. Also, before you select your games, be sure that your wedding reception venue has the materials and space you need for the game.

Using a Catering Service for Your Wedding Reception
Planning a wedding can seem an overwhelming task; there is so much to decide! Perhaps you want a seasonal theme, marking the occasion of spring. Should you go with a lilac or rose colored scheme, chrysanthemum or geranium flowers, a traditional white dress with delicate frills and a long train, or a trendy, modern style? What about aura, ambience and décor? Which of the wedding venues in Utah fully meets your needs and desires? The list seems to grow and grow as you envision this special and unforgettable hallmark of your life. One aspect of wedding planning that will take an enormous amount of time, meticulous planning, organized preparation, and seamless execution is food.
The kind of food service that will be featured at your selected Utah wedding reception center is a big decision to make. The choice of catering can easily consume more than half of your wedding budget. Furthermore, the quality of food and service at your reception will be a big factor in the success of your event. You ideally want an experience that will leave a lasting impression on your guests. The type of food and style of service will influence the mood, tone and feeling of your reception. You will have to consider how formal or casual you want your reception to be. Do you desire a cozy, warm, family feeling or the most exquisite dining experience? How will the reception tie into your overall wedding theme, will a five-meal course be appropriate, which desserts will add the perfect sensual element, what time of day will it be?
It may help to keep a running list of your ideas. Freely explore your tastes, fantasies and varied options, but strive for a workable balance and keep within your budget. You may go after exotic flavor but be sure to have customary options that can keep everyone happy. Think about serving styles. Seated meals are considered the best choice for a very formal wedding while buffet style may be perfect for a more relaxed, casual and festive atmosphere. Keep in mind that buffet-style receptions can still be formal with the choice of servers filling plates. One particular advantage to the buffet style is that guests can pick and choose exactly what they would like on their plate. A passed-tray service style, where the waiters walk around serving cocktails and finger-food from trays, may be more appealing for shorter or evening receptions. It is also important to remember your variety of guests with different needs, like vegetarians or elders, and the size of your guest list. With a catering service at any Utah wedding reception center, taste, variation and presentation are optimal.
Hiring a catering service is a convenient, hassle-free choice for providing food for your event. The last thing you want to worry about after you have said “I do” is whether the salmon turned out alright. Wedding caterers already have the experience required to pull off a successful event. In addition, you do not have to think about obtaining all the necessary catering supplies and equipment needed to prepare food for a large group of people, or worry about delegating kitchen responsibilities. There are many intricate details that you might not have even thought of that may require your attention in the course of preparing for an event. Having a catering service manage all of these tasks for you can reduce an enormous amount of stress and anxiety. On the big day, all you should have to do is bask in the dream-like glow that will certainly surround you.
Another good reason to hire a catering service is to ensure the food and service leaves a truly one-of-a-kind impression. A catering service often offers exquisite dining options with chefs that have years of experience in preparing high-quality, delectable servings with unique taste and presentation. The right catering ingredients may turn out one of the loveliest wedding receptions in Utah.
The Atrium, Western Gardens’ beautiful Sandy reception center, offers the convenience of its own catering service. You may select from a series of diverse buffet options: Garden Buffets, Celebration Buffets, Bow Tie Buffets, Classic Buffets, White Tie Buffets or Dinner Buffets. Each buffet style has further options to refine your style and taste. From the Atrium’s signature wedding menus you may choose your preference of hot and cold hors d’oeuvrs, desserts, salads, sandwiches, pies, cakes, entrees and beverages. A catering service may be a wise choice to ensure the smooth outcome of your reception. As you gear up for the big day, explore your choices, be creative, and have fun!
Weddings can become such grand productions! There is a long list of details to be decided upon, tracked and monitored to ensure that these arrive at the right time and at the right quantity, as well as look (or taste) the way you want it.
Some brides want to be involved in every tiny detail of the wedding while others prefer to get a little help with the planning and organizing. Needless to say, a wedding will surely need a lot of hands to help out for it to come without a hitch.
There are also wedding reception venues that offer complete packages. Aside from the wedding venue for the ceremony and/or the reception, you can also avail of other arrangements for important details such as the catering, floral arrangements, photography and videography, invitations and the wedding cake.
Here are some benefits of hiring a professional company to help with your wedding:
A wealth of experiences. You’ve made extensive research and read up on how to plan and implement your dream wedding. However, there may be some things you may have failed to foresee during your planning. Remember Murphy’s Law? Things that can go wrong may go wrong at the time you least want it to. Now, it’s not being pessimistic, but it helps to be prepared for these. A professional company will have a wealth of experiences and have seen a lot of weddings. They can already foresee what things can go wrong and head these off before they even happen.
Less pressure and stress for the bride and the entourage. During the day of the wedding, the bride’s most important job is to look the part – a radiant bride, beautiful and resplendent in her gown. Her second important job is to enjoy every moment of the event and ensure that her guests do as well. Having a professional to take care of the details will help ensure that the bride is relaxed and at ease during her wedding day. The same goes for the weeks and months of preparations. With someone helping out, the bride does not have to spend time rushing about, trying to complete everything according to the timeline.
Cheaper to go by the package. Getting things as a package may actually cost you less than getting every detail one by one. For instance, a reception venue in Utah, The Atrium, offers 20% discount on invitations when you book with them. Packages also have add-ins that, when bought or rented separately, may add a considerable amount to your budget.
Saves time. Imagine all the time you’ll save by not having to run around and getting everything yourself. A professional company that offers complete wedding packages will mean you will not have to make separate appointments for the venue, another for the catering, and so on.
Trends. A professional wedding coordinator or wedding reception location is more aware of the current trends – what’s hot and what’s not. The persons who had their eyes glued on the television during Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding were the wedding coordinators. They can give valuable input on your key choices.
Sourcing. Professionals have their sources. Rather than running around and doing research on the internet for that particular item you want included, you can simply ask your wedding coordinator and he or she may know where to find it. They also can give suggestions on a wide variety of options: Fresh flowers or silk flowers and where to get them? What wedding favors to give? Where to find those gorgeous centerpieces you saw in a magazine?
Has the resources and equipment. This is particularly true for reception centers in Sandy, Utah. These are already equipped with furniture, enough seating capacity, video and audio systems, lighting systems, parking and so on. Western Gardens’ The Atrium is a Sandy, UT wedding venue that is equipped with such and even has other add-ons to make your wedding extra special such as a baby-grand piano, dressing rooms for the bride and groom, enough parking spaces and so on.
Lastly, professionals are, well, professional. You will have a contract to hold on to so that things are done according to what you both have agreed upon. This may not be particularly true if you ask a non-professional to do the work for you. Many a bride have been left hanging and distraught a few days before the wedding (and even on the day of the wedding itself!) just because a non-professional was not able to deliver. This kind of stress can be avoided by going with a professional.
As you can see, professional companies such as wedding locations in Sandy, Utah, can provide more than just a venue in which you can hold your wedding ceremony and reception. They can provide invaluable help to ensure that your wedding is truly a dream come true.
